One of the effective ways to cure gout is by using cherries or cheery juice. Cherries are known for their anti-inflammatory properties may help reduce the amount of uric acid in the body and keep it from settling into joints which will cause the pain of gout. You can use canned cherries or fresh cherries and it does not matter if you use sour or sweet cherries. All cherries have been reported to be a natural gout cure. The recommended amount of cherries to consume a day is between ten cherries and up to one half pound. There are others who prefer to use cherry juice concentrate (1 tablespoon per day) and it is also effective in curing gout.
Diet is important and can be used as a natural gout cure as well. Purines consumed in the diet account for about 50% of the uric acid produced in the body. Therefore, a low purine or modified purine diet may help gout improve and prevent future gout attacks. A low purine diet consists of eliminating the following high purine foods from the diet: organ meats, sweetbreads, brains, kidney, meat gravies, meat extracts, scallops, wild game, mackerel, herring, anchovies and sardines. In addition, only one serving of the following foods are allowed per day in a low purine diet: dried beans and peas, asparagus, cauliflower, spinach, mushrooms, poultry, meat or fish.
Apart from this, you can also consider a purine-modified diet, which consists of eliminating extremely high-purine foods such as liver, brains, kidney and other organ meats as well as sweetbreads. However, in a purine-modified diet, it is alright for some protein foods not to exceed 100 grams per day. In one ounce of meat, there are 7 grams of protein Bread and grains have about 3 grams of protein per serving. One serving is one slice of bread or ½ cup of grain. Protein can be obtained by eating milk, eggs and cheese because these foods are high in protein and low in purines.
Another natural gout cure is increasing the intake of water, which can help to flush out excess uric acid and help prevent kidney stones. As a guideline, it is recommended that you drink at least eight glasses of water or three litres a day. Gout sufferers should also avoid alcohol because it increases uric acid production and inhibits its secretion.

Gout is a condition where uric acid crystals build up in the body.
This can happen in the area of the big toe and cause a lot of pain.
Our foods contain purines; some foods are higher in this than others.
The doctor may place you on a lower purine diet (of which they will usually provide you a list of foods to avoid. There is also medications that can lower the uric acid in the blood
Here an alternative way to cure gout?

I was diagnosed with gout about 2 years ago. I was in TERRIBLE pain. The attacks would occur repeatedly... especially if I walked too hard - like in airports. I heard that there is an enzyme in cherries that destroys the uric acid in your blood. This is what causes the gout. It crystallizes in the joints in your extremities (especially the big toe on the left foot). The cherry enzymes destroy uric acid crystals. You can either eat 6 cherries every day or take a supliment. I take 2 Black Cherry fruit extract tablets (available at GNC and The Vitamin Shoppe) every day. I have not had a gout attack in 2 years and my swollen joint in my toe has actually decreased. My left toe was so swollen that I couldn't buy shoes that fit right on my left foot. This is no longer the case. When I had my last attack, I ate a TON of cherry fruit items... Cherry fruit rollups mainly as fresh cherries were difficult to get at the time. I also drank 100% pure cherry juice. I also took a large quantity of Black Cherry Fruit Extract -- like six tablets a day. This got rid of the Gout within a few days. You're fighting joint inflamation caused by the uric acid crystals, so relief will not be immediate, but you will stop further irritation. As I said, I haven't had an attack in two years. My father told me about this remedy as he also has gout. He's managed to keep attacks away for over 10 years using this suppliment. I don't restrict my diet at all. Except that I don't eat internal organs like liver or turkey giblets. I hope you at least try it. Perhaps this will work for you. Keep to your regular meds and see if adding cherries to your diet daily or taking cherry fruit extract suppliments help. Good luck... I really sympathize with you. I know that pain first hand. An extreme answer would be to have your big toe amputated. My mother's uncle had his big toe removed and it cured the pain. But try the Cherry Fruit Extract.
