Ok, to make myself a little better -- who out there is crazy and has a hellish commute? Right now I do 67 one way which runs between one hour fifteen minutes to 1 hour 30, although on Friday afternoons it can be horrible. The only reason it's not worse is that I work odd hours. My friends already think I'm bonkers to drive this far, and I'm considering a job that is 90 miles away, one way.

So, who else out there does a little extreme commuting?

Ok, I'm starting to feel a little bit better. Man, we do live in an insane society when peple are willing to spend 4 hours a day to get to an 8hr a day job.

One of my friends has a commute that's two hours [give or take a half hour] and about 70 miles one way. It takes such a long time for the distance because he goes through city traffic almost the whole way in the commute direction and around here [California Bay Area] it gets insanely clogged.

I live in Toms River NJ and commute into to Manhattan every day. Takes 2 to 3 hrs to get there, and about 3-3 1/2 or more depending on traffic. It's about 300 miles to there and back.

My commuter started at 05.00 in the morning by walking to the bus stop. The bus would take me to the ferry terminal where I would wait 20 minuted before the ferry allowed passengers to board. The ferry ride is 40 minutes. After de-boarding I walked to another bus stop where I waited until the bus took me downtown where I worked. Total time ? From 5.07 departure bus to 7.45 arrival downtown. + of course the same time to get back home. Can anybody top this?

ok i dont want to complain but everyday i have to wake at 4:30 in order to make it to places on time ya know?!,

first i run the three miles in the tundra up to this cabin, of the owner whose bike i steel to get to work every morning.

than i ride that bike a good hour, and sneak out of the country, which is especially 'fun' since we've had floods lately

i leave that bike at the terminal, in its special hiding spot, and bord a bus size plane

we've had hurricanes lately so the plane ride is usually a bit bumpy and i make every promise to god i can think of,

than i get off in el paso texas, usually get mugged so i have a spare of everything on me, and im on my way again.

by now im running again and im allergic to the mosquto bites there so i swell like a pimple

than i have to excavate a path through selva and jungle (its a new one every day those jungles grow like weeds)

than i have to play rock paper scissors with this kid, if i dont win, its give him my shoes to borrow, but its worth it if i do win i get to borrow his skate board which cuts the rest of the commute in half.

that is if i dont get arrested on the ride

im usually dehydrated by now.

but in one hr from there i arrive on time
and thats the important thing

My commute is less than 5 minutes....but I have to watch people pick their nose while driving which makes it too long.
