I feel like I'm floating, and nobody I have talked to has heard of these pills. A friend gave them to me for chronic pain, now I'm wondering if I should have ever taken them according to what I read on the internet- for example they were made for people recovering from shingles, and that it doesn't start working for a week. I accidentially took 300mgs instd of 100mgs

Lyrica has two indications for pain. As you said, those recovering from shingles but also for diabetics who have a peripheral neuropathy. Some off label uses are for people who have neuropathic pain due to some other reason such as a herniated disc pressing on a nerve, or for a condition formerly known as RSD (now CRPS- complex regional pain syndrome). This medication is also good as an anti- seizure medication. The typical starting dose is about 75 mg twice per day with a maximum dose of around 600 mg per day. You will probably be ok, but most people work up to that large of dose, not start out at it. One other responder suggested calling the poison control center. That is a good idea just in case something bad happens.

I recommend calling the poison control center, the number is 1-800-222-1222. I had to call them for something my son ate, they are very informative. Good luck.

What you should do is call a pharmacy. If the one where you bought it (I don't even know what it is) is closed, call any pharmacy you like. Pharmacists are professionals and will be happy to help you because it's their responsibility to care for people who have to take medications.

Why? why would you take pills you have no clue what would do to you? anyways from the time you took them you should be feeling the side effects of the medicine by now. i wish you luck. be careful.

maybe you should have gone to see your doctor to get a perscription for pain medicine and not your friend. thats why you shouldnt take perscriptions that are not written for you.

Looks like you're going to have to find out for yourself. Let me know, so that I can warn others.
