O.K. is it more rude to be on your cell talking to a friend while driving to the grocery store with your significant other sitting next to u in the car....who u see every single day b/c u practically live together?

Or be on your cell in a room full of ppl during a small get together at a friends house just chatting to a friend?

OK, BOTH are rude.... but the second one is way worse than the first one.
However, the DANGER factor of talking on the phone while driving evens the score...
SO DON"T DO EITHER ONE!!

It is more rude to be on the phone when you are a group of people, unless it is an emergency. My best friend lives in another state, and when I am in the car with my husband I will talk to her when she calls.

did you excuse yourself before answering the phone?
did you answer the phone or call someone?
did you excuse yourself before calling?
are you discussing something best kept private like you or your friends herpes?
have you discounted the feelings of your significant other or those around you?
while driving are you using a hands free or headset???????

So often cell phones are used as an excuse to ignore the reality of the people around you as if the person or people in front of you have ceased to exist the moment you pressed answer.
How Rude!!!!!!!!

Using a cell phone while driving isn't the brightest thing to begin with! Distractions kill, and study after study shows using a cell phone behind the wheel is worse than being drunk.

First of all, you shouldn't be talking on your phone while driving. It's one of the leading causes of accidents.

Talking on a phone at a gathering is really rude. You're at the gathering to mingle with the people there, not talk to ones who aren't there.

Put yourself in these people's shoes. Would you want the person/people you're with to ignore you to talk on their phone?

yes, tell the person on your cell phone that you will call them back. Not to mention that talking on the cell phone while driving can cause an accident.

Both are VERY rude & tacky. Just turn the stupid thing off & make your calls when you are at home. There is NOTHING so important that it can NOT wait until then if you are JUST chatting....

Definately WAY WAY more rude in a car with just the TWO of you, than at a party in a GROUP setting...big huge difference.
