I have 3 yr.old Dobie male and I would like to know what to clean him with to keep him from smelling badly ?

My vet told me to only wash him 3 0r 4 times a year. He loves a bath and I was washing him 1 time a month. He is very shiny . He stays inside at night and plays outside off and on during the daytime.I wash with Clorhexaderm and Oatmeal shampoo.I had forgotten Miracle Coat.His skin is dry. He is very sweet and gentle.Weighs 105#s

If you do not have accomodations to do this yourself and do not want to take him somewhere to a groomer, there are mobile pet groomers who will come to you and give your dog a bath etc. Just look in your local yellow pages to see if there are any in your area. I have an 8 year old Dobie male. What is the problem bathing him? Works great for mine. There are waterless bathing lotions you could try. I would have to know why he smells badly. Mine just smells like a dog.

If you have had this dog since he was a pup and never bathed him I'm sure he will give you a hard time. If you can bath him I use oatmeal/ tree tea shampoo found at the pet store. They also sell a spray on shampoo that you simply just brush out. Good luck and great choice of dogs!!!!!!!!!!!
