I have problems with myself. I self-diagnose with online sources that I might have ADHD with Compulsive lying. I don't really want to ask my parents and I don't know why. Every time I want to ask them, I freeze. I ruined my life to a college and will be going to a junior college. So I want to know why I am doing this to myself. I have not talk to a psychiatrist, but will plan to talk to the school psychiatrist when i go back. I am sick of myself for doing this, but I can't stop. I am most likely addicted to games, but I do not smoke nor drink any alcohol nor take any drugs. And advices would help.

Wow, this is interesting. I recently worked with a person who was definitely ADHD and he had a very serious problem with compulsive lying. So now I'm wondering if there might be a connection? I guess anything is possible. Buy my son was ADD (not ADHD) and he rarely lied.

Hope you can get on medication. It will help you focus more and you will be more successful in school. However, I'm still skeptical about the compulsive lying - - - - - that probably is just a very bad habit that comes from the impulsivity associated with your ADHD.

My advice of course is to get on medication. Try to put as much structure into your life as possible. Keep a calendar with you always. An assignment book with you always at school. Try to work at keeping things in the same place and doing things at a specific time. Keep a pad of sticky notes in your pocket and use them for reminders. Make a list everyday of goals you want to accomplish and work at ONE at a time - - - - not all of them at once. Good luck!!!

Compulsive lying is certainly not a key reason associated with ADHD. One can do a self diagnosis or do a test to determine another person whether he or she has ADHD. Even a professional counsellor may not immediately detect the presence of ADHD, they will need to gather more data and possibly some time to anaylse the behaviour before concluding them, though some may tell you that the premliminary suspected of ADHD. Seek a counsellor for help, there may be other underlying problems that are not associated with ADHD.
