Um, to the person above me who said that you shouldn't speak ill of the dead.
Hey look! It's television! I know it looks real, but it's "pretend." It's like a story book! I'm sure you're familiar with story books, right!? Well, "Jack Tripper" was a CHARACTER played by an actor. The actor is dead - but the character was only created by writers!
Isn't "pretend" fun?

That was all an act for Mr. Roper, the landlord. If Jack had been straight, Mr. Roper never would've let him share the apartment. Mrs. Roper, of course, was wise to the whole thing but never argued with the arrangement.
