Would a system running at 1000 watts rms at 1 ohm be as loud as a system 1000 watts rms at 4 ohms. Thanks

Yes, as watts are watt are watts...

Also, the amp will run cooler, last longer and sound better (less THD) running at 4 ohms than at 1 ohm.

Yes, assuming you are using a single 1-ohm speaker, and a single 4-ohm speaker.

Typically though, you would be used several speakers 4-ohm speakers to reach 1-ohm at the amp, which would be different.

it will be the same.. i would look at the amps though bc some are digital and use less current, running a 1000 watt amp should have at least 1 ferad cap on the system if you have any questions on anything feel free to mail me,

With a 1000W audio system, output impedence of the amplifier is far more important than loudness. You should match the output impedenc of your amplifier as close as possible to your speaker configuration.

Speaker load impedance can be changed by wiring speakers in parallel - series - or a combination of the two.
