Native hunters have as much right to fish as anyone. Non native people fish with nets all the time, although usually in the ocean and not lakes.

have a look at what the asian fishermen are doing to the oceans.

Check out the following fishing issues on the internet. Greenpeace would be a good place to start, or you might like to contact The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

Drift nets. bits of these SQUARE KILOMETRE in extent nets break free and kill fish for years and years afterwards. Is this not waste?

Gill nets. Same same. Just on a slightly smaller scale.

Longline fishing - imagine a fishing line with TEN THOUSAND HOOKS which is allowed to drag behind a boat for a day or more. these horrific lines hook anything and everything which eats the bait they use. target fish make up a small percentage of the catch. they're also responsible for the endangerment (read: making extinct) of one of the world's most magnificent birds, the albatross. These poor birds see a fish sliding along just below the surface and swoop down to "catch" it. Wham! they're hooked. Then they die.

The Patagonian Toothfish. Almost extinct.

The Orange Roughy. 90% fall in stocks in 20 years.

The Northern Cod. 95% fall in stocks in 50 years. This has resulted in many many northern hemisphere traditional fishing illages losing their complete livelihoods / way of life / economic base.

And you're worried about the waste of a few traditional people fishing in a lake where they've been doing their "thing" for centuries? Maybe it's time for you to have a look at the BIG picture that the world is facing here. Leave the traditionalists alone and go after those with rapacious appetites who couldn't care less about wasting more than 50% of what they catch.

Hope this helps you to understand the problem is not just in your backyard.

Love and Light,

Jarrah

Please educate yourself and stop whining, it sounds as if you are being racist to me.
