I took a small dose (500mg, one pill) of Tylenol (acetometaphin) and my question is.....how soon after that dose is it safe to drink (wine, beer, etc)? Is it after the 4 hours it has been in your system, or is it a full 24 hr day? Thanks in advance!

I've taken 4 with a rum and coke because of a really bad headache. I was fine with no side effects. Every person is different though. I know what my body can tolerate - and it may differ from what yours can tolerate.

Here is a quote from the Tylenol website:

Can I drink alcohol and take Tylenol?
Labeling for Tylenol products reads as follows:

"If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, ask your doctor whether you should take acetaminophen or other pain relievers/fever reducers."

Acetaminophen may cause liver damage.
