As far as I know, and I've had everything from 1 inch spikes to 3 foot tresses, the best way is to just let it grow. On average hair grows about 3/4 of an inch a month. My hair grows quite quickly and I end up with about a foot a year. It's presently 30" long. If you don't want to spend a great deal of money on it there are extensions you can buy that are faux hair. They generally come in pony tail style extensions and run anywhere from $15-50.00 depending on the quality and all. Human hair wigs and extensions are considerably more expensive. You can also take vitamins that will not necessarily make your hair grow but are specially formulated for hair and nails since hair is almost 100% protein. They will help if you have brittle hair or nails that tend to break easily. The drugs that they advertise in magazines and such, well, I don't know if I'd put much faith in them. I'm just blessed with a good head of hair that can't keep from growing.

When you cut your hair it grows longer, so get it trimmed once a month or so ... this way your hair also doesn't grow long and have split ends which leads to really .. unhealthy hair that falls out a lot. Other than that you just have to be patient
