Gee.... I don't know if cocoa butter is a good thing for your face. I would think the oil would clog pours.

Anyway...I have these acne-like things that I get on my legs.
Doctors don't know what they are. Been going to doctors for 7 years with no help...only bills. I never had acne on my face or body when I was younger. I'm 52. These started appearing bout 7 years ago ...on and off.

I've tried numerous prescriptions, steroid shots, vitamin creams etc. Nothing makes them go away. The salicylic acid products which 'dry out' ...usually caused great itchiing...which made it worse.

However, what I have found that works to lessen the scarring is.....foot callus creams. This would be something you might try on a small part of your face.
Avon has one that when I apply it for a while, it mostly removes the hard little volcano crevices that are left behind. I know this sounds weird....but I was at my wits end. I scuba dive and wore bathing suits all the time....but haven't now for two years because of this problem on my legs. So I know how embarrassed and ashamed you feel cuz people stare.

This Avon foot callus creme is inexpensive and you should probably try it on a very small inconspicuous spot on your face first. I know it won't make it go away....but it helps to remove the hard callus type poc marks that are left that leave the scarring.

Good luck and God Bless.

Dont put cocoa butter on your skin, that will make it break out!

1. When you want to drain the pimple, use a special instrument to extract. Usually its a small tool with a circle at the end, that when pressed on the pimple will extract it, without breaking the skin. (using fingernails and such, will break skin and may cause infections, and potentially scarring. YOu can purchase at any beauty supply store.

Extract your pimple as soon as you see it, and make sure you clean it out completely. usually you know you ahve it when there is nothing left but blood.

2. If you want natural, believe it or not Urine is really good for acne.
Urine is sterile, and contains uric acid, which can help dry up pimples. Just collect urine, and use a cotton ball to apply.

3. If thats just too weird, benzoil Peroxide products are very good for acne. (dries up pimples like Uric acid) (Proactive is a BP product)

4. Glycolic acid products also good, but they are more expensive, and you have to make an effort to stay out of the sun.

5. Medicated Apricot scrub by St. Ives is a a great cleanser. (salicytic acid.. which is the main ingredient is asprin)

6. Always use a waterbased moisturizer, after cleansing.

7. Finally if you are a female, and you are old enough, Birth control pills do a great job and preventing acne alltogether.

PS: tea tree oil is also antifungal, and very potent.. If you are going to try that, use a Qtip and only dab on each individual pimple.

For starters: No cocoa butter. Pimples are caused when bacteria get into the pores on your face (or body). Once the bacteria get into the pores, they polymerize the oil and turn it into a thicker "oil" that doesn't flow anymore. This polymerized oil collects with dirt and forms pimples and blackheads.

The BEST thing you can do is to wash your hands and face every couple of hours with warm soap and water to remove the oil. In addition to this, wash your face after every meal and before you go to bed. Even wash your face after every snack. Also keep your hair out of your face AND keep your hands away from your face.

If this doesn't help immensely, try some over the counter acne products. Your pharmacist can recommend something.

If none of that works, see a dermatologist if you can. Best of luck.

Cocoa butter is the worst thing to use. I contains oil. You must use oil free products. Oil free soap (like Purpose, Neutrogena acne wash...any thing oil free, there are a lot of over the counter products) and use oil free makeup. Avoid moisturizers and when needed use an oil free, gel based sunscreen. Make sure your powder and blush are oil free also. Benzyol peroxide is a good product to use after washing your face in the morning and evening. Avoid dairy products. Milk, cheese, icecream ect.. all come from pregnant cows which has a large amount of hormones in it. The hormones in your body plust the added hormones that you digest is what is making your acne bad. If your pimples are "deep" than it's not really goning to help what you use on your skin, you'll need to take something orally like doxycycline. Good luck beautiful !

well, its like trial and error. i had a few months bout with acne last year. never had it b4 (btw, im 27 now) my doctor gave me antibiotic for my acne on my armpit (but it helped clear out my face too) i think its doxycycline. But u shud go to a derm first to get a prescription and i used retin A too. another thing that helped me was an exfoliant consist of tretinoin (which is also found in retin A).
but if u cant afford to go to a derm, u can buy bezoyl peroxide in 2% form, and use mild soap like cetaphil and a light moisturizer. Coz benzoyl peroxide will dry out ur skin so dont put too much... if i wer u, try the benzoyl first on ur skin, and gauge ur reaction if ur allergic. but anyways, it has literature that comes with it when u buy it...goodluck

you can go to a health food store like whole foods, mothers, wild oats, or the like, and look for products with benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sugar cane, tea tree oil, or Alpha Hydroxy Acids. tea tree is especially good for prevention of new pimples because it's a natural anti-bacterial.

Use egg white-not the yolk, just the egg white. Put it on your face, let it dry and leave it there. Do this several times a day.
Your skin will clear up beautifully. Good luck!
