14...you're in middle school/junior high right? Well, let me tell you that it's different in high school. There isnt such a huge boundary between people in different grades. Honestly, when you meet people in high school, you dont even know if they're a freshman, sophmore, junior or senior. This may be harder in middle school, but you cant let the fact that this guy isnt in the same grade as you affect the way you talk to him. Just talk to him LIKE he was in your grade. People think it's weird if someone comes up to them and acts like they're a god to be worshiped and can hardly get a complete sentence out. If you just talk to him like he's a normal human being and keep your cool, he'll feel like he's on the same level as you, and you have one heck of a lot better chance at making a connection with him. Good luck, and just be yourself!

Just go for it. As you're walking by, try to make eye contact, smile, say hi and keep going. Can't hurt and it certainly is no law that an older guy can't date a younger girl. It's just one word so if he isn't interested yet, it isn't like you threw yourself at his feet and professed your undying love.

We all have to overcome our fears thoughout our lives. Its time for you to do the same. Nobody likes rejection but you have to start somewhere. The good Lord gave us a mouth for a reason. Use it. Good Luck.

find out his name and say "hi _____!" this will make him want to know your name. just dont hesitate or let him know you're scared about it. have full confidence and pretend like he's lucky to have you saying hi to him.
