all things in moderation, if you have real flaws -- deformities, parts of you that can be helped, then fix them, but dont become addicted, make sure your sense of your flaw(s) isn't just in your head.
have surgery: your body is just a vehicle, one less finger doesn't change your past, or your values, and it doesn't determine your future -- point being, that an injury or missing part, isn't life altering.
if you accept that arguement, then DONT HAVE SURGERY, the parts of you aren't going to change your past, your values, or determine your future.
then again, HAVE SURGERY, we alter all other things...if you where any makeup at all, that's a little fake, isn't it? your lips arent really that color, or if you dye your hair..same thing; so how is a nose job any different, you're enhancing/altering something you already have. so if that makes you more confident, good. but in the end it's your determination, your work that gets you anywhere.
as far as attracting the opposite sex. i think it's a unique thing to find someone you love, that you're going to treat right, and that returns the favor. looks have very little to do w/ it, and a person who has truly been in love, and had the love returned knows that the way a person looks, in the end, is insignificant. life and love are really about energy and chemistry. haven't you ever been attracted to someone "unattractive" haven't you ever been CRAZY about someone w/ features that normally wouldn't please you in the slightest??

I think if I could afford plastic surgery I would get it done. I mean why not? And the makeover shows are just entertaining for me. I don't really pay too much attention to them!

I'd not have plastic surgery just to attract someone since usually I want them wanting me for me, not my body parts. I would have plastic surgery if it would make me feel happier about myself since I've always been satisfied with me, or if it was because age is shifting things causing some physical interference. Haven't seen Xtreme Makeover so can't comment on that.

no, i wouldn't, because i don't want to be the person someone else wants me to be, me getting a more socially thought to be beautiful nose won't change my personality, i'll still be the same either way, my nose is my nose, my body is my body and i think it's ridiculous that people would rather look like everyone else than themselves, shows like extreme makeovers are disgusting, it shows how such insecurities in people make them want something so bad thinking that life is better if you're beautiful, it's been instilled in people's heads that you have to be attractive in order to be loved, which is repulsive, there's no openmindedness to that concept at all, people who are beautiful do get treated differently, i'm comfortable with myself and i'm comfortable with superficial people not acknowledging my presence, i don't care for any of it

I would never get plastic surgery...A man should love you for the person that you are...appearance fades.

if you have to put on "plastic" to make yourself look better, then you are too self-conscious... it doesn't matter what others think, just what you think... and to answer your question, no, not in a million years or if i was scarred beyond all recognition....
