I am switching jobs and already gave my former boss notice. I really enjoyed working there and am leaving on good terms. It is a small business and all employees and the boss are close. I know it is appropriate to say thank you, but can I give my boss a thank you card saying I appreciated the opportunity to work there?

Sure, why not? Leaves you on a good note, and will brighten your bosses day. Go for it.

I would do it. You never know if things don't work out at the new place you would have left a good impression on the old boss. As long as you are leaving on good terms you can't be to nice. Can you?

Definitely Yes! To thank the boss for hiring you in the first place, and therefore you have gained the job expertise, therefore you are able to move on to a better job.

I've never heard of that before most people don't even give notice which is kind in it's self ,but I think that you must be a thoughtful and a kind person with a kind heart. I say go for it!

i do no longer think of that is irrelevant yet to me it may be awkward as an worker. in all probability the boss would truthfully take excitement in it yet to me it may be weird and wonderful to be giving him/her some thing as a "so long present day". i've got by no ability executed it at any of my jobs and a pair of of my ex bosses have been human beings whom I had a super relationship with.... yet no, no present became into given. yet that is only me...

Yes, as long as it is business like in case he is married, can't be too familiar with it. It is always ok to show kindness. Maybe include it to all the workers too so it will appear to be for all of them and not just him. good luck.

I wouldn't you have given proper notice. If anything a simple thank you would be enough. Just to let them know, you like them and would like to keep in touch?
