I take Lexapro and let me tell you it has changed my life, for the better! At first when I started it I felt like a walking zombie, like I was on the inside of me looking out. I know that sounds strange but that's the only way I can describe it. After a few weeks of this I started to feel great. I in now way mean to say I am superwoman, I still have my ups and downs, I still feel all the emotions that I had before (happiness, sadness, giddiness, etc.) but the best part is that now when I am mad or upset about something I don't "fly off the handle". I am better able to keep my emotions in check. I also was carrying alot of baggage from childhood and I was able to work thru it and let it go, thus making me a happier person. But just because this medication worked for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone. When I started this medication I was started at a "half" dose and gradually increased it to a full dose so my body could better adjust to it. If you are indeed having issues with this medication you should definitely see your doctor about this as depression is really nothing to mess around with. I hope this added some in site for you and I hope your felling well soon!

Yes, similar stuff happened to me. I was prescribed 10mg/day at first (In November) and it had very little effect on me but I could almost feeling it working a tiny bit in there. After about 4 weeks of feeling only the tiniest bit better, I began to feel terrible again as if the drug quit working all together. I was upped to 20mgs/day in mid-December and after about a week, I began to feel much better. I was feeling great (almost) up until about a week and a half ago. I felt like I crashed and I'm back to crying, feeling like life is worthless and the thoughts of suicide are coming back. I'm also taking Klonopin for my anxiety/panic attacks and those have been coming back as well.

I'm seeing my doctor on Wednesday and I'm going to talk to her about it. She originally started me on such a low dose because she slowly wanted to raise it over time depending on how I felt. It sounds like I'm ready to have it raised again. You need to tell the doctor exactly whats happening and they will either change the dose or recommend trying something else. Don't worry about it, it will get sorted out.

I was also prescribed samples of lexapro-I started having panic attacks and was suicidal. I quit taking it immediately. I've not taken any anti-depressants for quite some time now as they have never helped me thus far. I think everyone gets down-that it's a fact of life. I like to think to there's a little pill out there that you take and instantly makes you better. I have yet to find it in anti-depressant form.
