When I'm with my friends out at night I drink a lot. Way too much in fact. I always feel the need to keep drinking until one of my good friends will pull it away from me.

I will sometimes sneak alcohol and not tell my friends because I think it will make whatever we're doing more fun.

I make bad decisions when I'm drunk and I'm aware that what I'm doing is wrong but I'm so out of my mind because of the alcohol that I do these things anyway. Then I regret them in the morning.

I was born without the ability to throw up, I never have even when I had food poisoning so everything stays in my system twice as long and when i'm drunk I use that to my advantage because I'm quite small as well.

My dad, my grandfather and two of my uncles and my cousin were alcoholics and are recovered now.

Am i?

This is a good first step for you. It is time for you to face the truth. You need to quit drinking. Get your friends to support your decision. Get into some form of rehab program if you can't handle it on your own.

You are an independent individual, many people drink, you have to ask yourself is this something you have to have and are you willing to give up you body for this. It will own you and if you want to you can drink just don't let the drink own you. If you are young you have so many choices, buy a puppy, roller blade, volunteer services. So many people have a chance and do not know where to go with it. I am sure you are more worth a drink than you know.

From what you've written, I would bet that you are. Alcoholism does run in families. You didn't write what your age is but you seem like you're fairly young. If you feel like you have a problem, then you do. You need to see a therapist, or join an alcoholics support group. See your doctor as well.

Yes, I can't help you from here. You have to get in control, only you can do that. It would help if you had a good friend that didn't drink. If you keep it up, someone will take advantage of you. Your drinking buddies won't help you. They aren't interested in your future, they will forsake you if you get into serious trouble. I am not going to tell you to go to AA or get counseling. Only you can decide that. Good luck.

Maybe.
Depends on how old you are. Most kids in high school and college do the same thing, then they grow out of it.
However, with your family history, you should definitely seek some counseling.
It is a good sign that you recognize that you may have a problem.

Of course you are. BTW, your relatives aren't recovered alcoholics. There are no such things. Only recovering alcoholics. Get yourself to AA when you are ready to improve your life.

It sounds like you're well on your way. You should go a month without drinking just to show yourself that you can.

I just quit drinking, and you know what? Life isn't that bad without it.
