my little sister complained of dizziness and she said that she felt like her heart was pumping too fast, while she was playing outside. This has never happened before. she wasn't playing very hard. I told her to go inside and have some water and maybe lay down a little. But it was just sudden and it went away quickly, but i dont know what the matter was. Should I be worried about her? What might be the problem?

kids are playful by nature, long hours of playing outside specially in the sun would trigger dehydration, stress.. and the heart starts to compensate by pumping sooo hard..and when that happens the blood circulation changes which resulted to dizziness.
the reaction of your sister is normal.. you are right with what you did.provide her with lots of fluids..let her standstill for a couple of minutes before resting so as to ease down the blood pressure rising. but if this symptom persist and you think its not normal anymore then thats the time you get a consultation from a doctor.

There are too many things we dont know here.... Some things you can check, are blood pressure, sugar level (diabetes meter), and pulse.

We dont know how old your sister is, or how big, or what she was doing when she started feeling dizzy. Was she bitten by an insect? Did she get too hot?

Schedule a check up with a doc, if she appears to be doing ok, now that she has come inside and rested. If her pulse is still racing, and she still feels dizzy, then take her to an emergency room. It's better to be safe.

Get her to the Dr. to be checked out. I doubt its from playing too hard because of the time of year. You described palpatations and tachycardia..these symptoms could be just a passing thing but just in case there is something going on with her heart it should be checked out.

I doubt that it was dehydration.....but I bet she had been eating a lot of candy or something else with a high level of sugar in it. If that is the case, then make sure her candy or sugar intake is limited. If you need me to explain this more to you, just send me a message. Best of luck to you.

It seems like she is dehydrated, just give her gatorade, or water, she should be fine, if that doesnt help then go see a doctor
