Nope. More like I'm afraid of life.

Death is a part of life, so if you are afraid of death, you are also afraid of life. And yes, there are a lot of things about life that scares me.

Not really, but I'm in no hurry to get there. And I'm pretty sure I'd be afraid if it came via a murder or some other violent scary experience. Afraid of the experience, but perhaps not of death itself. But pissed off at getting booted from life early.

My mother is 90 and in ill health. She presents herself as a Christian and it appears to me that she fears death. I cannot under stand that.
Christians seem to fear death much more than most folks particularly atheists. Atheists seem to think death is a normal part of life; nobody gets out alive and when you're dead, you're done.
The whole focus of Christianity is a terror of death and a potential for everlasting pain and suffering for breaking rules designed to enrich church leaders. What a sad life, groveling before church leaders and their god of eternal torture. Bummer.
I am personally not afraid of death because I know I will not have to spend an eternity with sniveling hypocrites like Jerry Fallwell and Pat Robertson.

I am not afraid of death, suffering or not. I know that when i die I will go to heaven because I have faith in God, and those who do not shall go to Hell. And to all the atheists out there, I am not trying to insult you, I am simply stating the truth.

tebone0315,
Yes in other words we don't die, well, we do die, just our body dies, but our souls are IMMORTAL, because God made us that way! The only thing you have to worry about is being bad and Going to hell. Good people that actually do as god says will go to Heaven, in some ways you should be happy to die (when your old and grey of course) because you will get to see and spend forever with your mate of the opposite sex and friends and family again. So, no, I'm not affraid, just as long as I'm like somwhere in the neighborhood of 100 years old give or take a decade.

No. I strongly believe in carnation and that we are just spirutal beings having a human experience. While our spirits are in the other realm(s) (there are many levels) we choose what expereinces we will have and how we will die. Each experience is meant as a learning tool and helps make our spirits more perfect. Only when we have perfected ourselves through many lives on Earth do we get to be with God.

I am not afraid of death, but I am concerned about the loss of memory and one's self..given that my faith promotes the idea of an afterlife, i feel somewhat comforted by this notion

I'm afraid of dying before I accomplish what I want to. Death itself...I don't know. I don't think you really know until you are faced with it.
