They're a bit deranged that way.

no longer all human beings do... some human beings were taught to by no potential extrapolate at the same time as it contains faith. in the experience that they could't make purposes and may want to't arise with a verse -- even an out of context verse -- they are at a loss for an answer. Many grab a verse because they don't trust that "i don't know" is a valid answer. What i hit upon maximum annoying is that, at the same time as quoting the recent testomony, maximum quote Paul somewhat than Jesus. at the same time as quoting the former testomony, maximum quote the Levitical regulation which those human beings that're no longer Jewish at the on the spot are not obliged to stay with.

I guess they would be 'bible people' because a whole lot of people who go to church don't quote bible scriptures.
Some of us 'church people' know the difference between Neanderthal man and some obscure giants.

For the devote no the Bible is able to answer every question ever asked, so they of course can not answer a question with out quoting bible verse.
When I do push for an answer one that matches the question and they don't have one, it has been my experience that I am then told "that I should have faith and that since I am not God how could I know everything"
I respond with I am not claiming to know everything, but if I am intelligent enough to ask the question surely God is capable of providing an answer.
The smart ones stop there, the true holier than thou bible thumpers tell me I am blasphemous.

All too many of them don't believe in the Neanderthals. Many of them think the earth/people is only 6000 years old and that''s why they are always quoting the Bible. They don't have an answer they just say "you have to have faith".

Stop knocking church people. They already feel put upon with all the biological and genetic evidence being spouted, and they just don't know where to fit the Neanderthals. I will tell you this, though: God never liked the Neanderthals, and I suspect he doesn't like their fossils either.

Most church people are vary ignorant to the fact that man roamed this planet hundreds of thousands of years before Christ, I am catholic, and have studied theology for years, and it is unbelievable the lack of knowledge most church people have today, I personally believe quoting the bible that most church people do, is an insult to the church because of their lack of knowledge of the bible, they simply believe it to be fact while most clergy know that it is not all true, I have come to the conclusion that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink, but you can lead people to the bible, and you can make him believe a lie.

I thought the giants thing was to explain how 15 cubits of water could flood the earth. Sheesh, they should really sort it out before quoting the Bible like that.

Why would a church person answer a question about their religious beliefs by quoting from the source of their religious beliefs? Gee, that doesn't make any sense at all...
Again, what is a "church person"? The world's largest Christian denomination officially endorses evolution and teaches it in their schools all across the globe. What kind of guys have you been dating?

Nope. The book is their bread and butter so obviously you'd have to learn that if you talk to them some religious view will leak into the conversation even if the chat is about car engines or something.

There are some that rely very heavily on the Bible. But there are others that draw their own conclusions when it is necessary.
