Poor manners are a prevailing problem in our current society. My kds were drilled over and over on their manners and now, as they are reaching adulthood, people comment on their superb manners all the time. It is too bad that something that should be "normal" is so different now that people say something about it!!!!

For the same reason they don't cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze.........they have no manners or class.

Grandmama always said to cover your mouth with the back of your hand when you yawn and use the front of your hand when you cough. Good advice.

I cover my mouth.
It depends on whether it was something thought from home or not.
Some people were never thought to cover their mouths, so think they they're doing nothing wrong.
Although some others just don't cover their mouths because they're lazy to do it.

Poverty and ignorance will show. The family is under attack, and there just is no structure and training in the majority of American homes now.

With all that expensive dental work people have these days -- braces, caps, whitening, etc.-- they may just want to show off
