Continue in what you are doing. We are supposed to do God's will and not our own. I have these feelings every minute of every day and I faithfully serve the Lord

Nice to hear your testimony, sister, but I'm not sure what feelings you want to overcome. You mean dissatisfaction/impatience? Remember, blessed are they that wait upon the Lord. According to His own schedule and His perfect will, God gives us tasks and opportunities to serve Him. Don't worry; you may have already changed someone's entire life with just one kind word or deed at the right moment. When He wants you, He'll see to it that you're in the right place at the right time. Same deal with deepening your relationship with Him. Stay in prayer, and trust Him to make you the daughter and servant He wants you to be. Meanwhile, maybe you could volunteer at an old folks' home, hospital, school, or community food program. Many blessings to you!

Yes, I have felt a lack of contentment in my life. I have found that prayer and meditation and patience are the keys to overcoming this feeling. Prayer gives voice to your intent to serve God. Meditation allows you to still yourself to hear the voice of God within you (some call it the Holy Spirit). And patience is the knowledge that God knows far better than you do when the time is right for action.
May God bless you and keep you.

Why would you want to overcome them? God tells us that we should strive to enter into His rest (Hebrews 4:11)
As long as you have sanctified desire to press forward into more of God let it carry you where God intends to lead you.
Paul gave instructions for the proper attitude in Philippians 3:7-16. Please read it and see how your experience compares with Paul.
However if it is insecurity that arises from a legalistic approach of trying to earn God's favor, you need to go back to Romans, particularly chapters 1-8, to see if you are lined up with the Bible path out of self righteousness into the way of righteousness by faith. Consider at least chapter 4:1-5 to see what I mean.
Peace to you.

Yes it does happen to me. I've read other posters and they are all good. Maybe I'm off base but here's my take on your experience.
I'm going to sound cliche but our faith is not based on feelings. Yet David wrote the Psalms when he was down and out in life and Elijah, Moses, Daniel, Job, and Noami, in the book of Ruth etc. What you are experiencing is a normal experience that all humans feel in life. Really it doesn't matter if you are religious or not.
When your feelings do overwhelm your faith at times, and they can. Experience them. It's like it's okay to be tempted but don't give into your temptation. That sounds odd but feelings come. Jesus was tempted by Satan when he was weak. But how did Jesus face this moment of weakness? By rebuking the devil with God's word.
David wrote in Psalms 119:11 "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against you".
Also Proverbs 3:6 admonishes us to acknowledge that God is the one leading you on the path of life you are living now. Christ fed the 5,000 at one time. And that was all that he could do at that time.

Dissatisfaction with your current spiritual walk pushes you to pursue a closer relationship with the Lord. He may have a great work planned for you that you need preparing for. God bless you. Surge ahead!!

I've had that feeling before and when I do I pray and remember that God's plan for me is on his terms and in his time, not mine. I also keep a saying from Psalms 46:10 taped nearby, "Be still and know that I AM.

Yes. Don't feel guilty or self condemning. God knows your strengths and your weaknesses. A Bible scripture that has helped me is, He that has begun a good work in you will work to complete( or perfect) it in you. It is saying that it is God's job to work in us His will. You are the tool in His hands. You are really not working for God, but He is working through you. The feeling will change once you can grasp the concept that God is working in you, not that you are doing it all yourself. Pray and ask Him to make you more confident in Him and to show you who you are in Christ. He will.

I do not believe that God wants you to lose your desire for life. To give up curiousity or interest in other things or to be bored to death.
If he does, he should not be God, he should be a regular person - because that's how most humans behave.
