When I was still a christian, and still had long hair, every once in awhile I would shear off my locks and use the loose hair to make a mop. I would then use the mop to wash the feet of those who paid me a visit. I could also use it to clean the floor, the toilet, use it as a tooth-brush... etc. It was a very multi-dimensional, multi-purpose tool. Kind of like a Biblical-holdover Swiss Army Knife, but for washing things. And by the time it wore out my hair would be long enough again to make a new one. Wonderfully convenient.

Some Christian churches still do. Generally done by the pastor and ministers. It is what Jesus did with the apostles. John 13:7-9..See Biblical Customs and Traditions. It showed they were part of each other..

It was wash the feet with tears and dry the feet with your hair. AND one woman did it for Jesus.

Now if Jesus shows up at my home, I would do it for Him. Anyone else, can forget it.

Sure. We all know that archeology has confirmed the existence of that long-standing Christian tradition.
Or are you just confusing the Christian foot-washing ritual with a completely unrelated story about Jesus?

Not with hair but with a towel and basen of water as Jesus gave us the example.

John 13:4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. 6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

Since, that was told to us to symbolize how we are to happily and graciously serve or help others - yes.

But, if you are looking at it from a superficial standpoint, no.

Catholics do but not with their hair. We do it it because Jesus told us to do it.
