I am a 21 y/o female, lately..well actually for the past couple years or so i have been feeling really dissapointed and depressed about life. I have no motivation or drive to live, i have lost many friends and have drawn away from everyone including my fiance and family bc of this. I have thoughts of dying sometimes and it puts me at ease..i told my physician about this and she prescribed me zoloft, i threw it away bc i dont believe i need a "pill" to make me feel better, i dont kno whats wrong with me, i just have no desire to get out of bed or go out with my friends when they invite me to do things, i feel like im just existing, i feel like theres nothing that interests me about being on this earth anymore, does anyone know anything i can do to help these feelings?? some add'tl info..im not on any drugs, im not ugly or fat or anything like that, and i also just found out im pregnant. (but being pregnant has nothing to do with my feelings, i have felt like this for years) HELP!!!

I didn't want to try meds at first either, but after i began taking Sertraline (generic zoloft), I noticed a HUGE difference in the way I felt. I was SO motivated to get up in the morning and to do meaningful things. I have such a different outlook than I had a half a year ago. You should definitely talk to your doctor about being pregnant before trying the zoloft, but if he/she okays it, you might be happy with the results. I know it was awkward for me (a 22/f) at first to finally realize that it would help me, but I am very glad I went with it. If you decide not to go the med route, just make sure you have someone to talk with about how you feel, and try to do something new that you think is important- (i.e. volunteer somewhere, learn a new skill, anything that will make you feel accomplished and happy with life). Good luck!

Well first all you are too young to be having these feelings. You have to ask yourself where you came to get these feelings. What has come into your life for you a vibrant woman to lose motivation.?And why have you lost friends. You need to take hold of your life by the bootstraps and say " I am going to lick this one way or the other"! Find out for yourself what you want in life. Have you not a best girlfriend you can confide in? How about the father of this child? Dont give on life because life will NOT give up on you if you are willing to live for this child. Where are your parents in this mix? Surely there is someone who you can confide in. A pastor or someone. YOu need to talk. As you are here with all us. We arent the cure all now. We just lend advise on how we think you need to handle this. Please do something now. We are all family here on Yahoo and want whats best for you.. Good luck sweetie. And know we are all on your side.

I felt the same way a few years ago. I went to my doctor to ask her what I should do, she just prescribed me some antidepressants and I refused them. So she gave me another idea. She told me to start a membership at the local gym, eat healthier food, and force myself to go out with family and be around people I love and come back to her in a month or two if it doesn't work. I thought to myself "But I'm not fat". So I tried it and I could truly say the it worked for me. It was very hard at first to push myself to do things but it payed off at the end. Pill free...

You may have projected a different life for yourself at some poiint and not come to live this life and it bums you out.
You can roll up into a ball in a dark room or you can realize tomorrow is a day that you can move toward these projected goals. Make a plan, go outside . If you stay inside, youwill go crazy.
I went through this for 7 years until one day I stopped feeling sorry for myself and decided to give it one more valiant try. Things are much better in a world where you accept where you are for the moment, with plans to move foreward

obviously you felt like having sex no? im sure you are depressed. try the zoloft. make sure you can use it if you are pregnant first. otherwise use natural antidepressants, exercise, meditation, listen to music, find a hobby.
