our lives are for living. be happy, learn, choose kind friends, love genuinely, be important to someone, be helpful to the earth and other creatures each time you have the opportunity to do so, laugh, breathe , wait . . . . .
it is enough.

Honestly, i dont think that anyone truly knows what we are here for. No I dont think it has been all for nothing, though I have suffered a great deal in life, and yes I think there may be an after life. As an assumption I would have to say that we were put on this earth to make the world a thriving, better place with more good souls so improve the world. This statement seems to be the exact opposite of what is happening though, we have corrupted this world beyond obsolete comprehension, and whoever or however created us did so for nothing. Many people live lives of suffering yes there r people who live happy lives, but that does not happen often, and more often than not, the good people are forced to suffer. I still think we were put on this earth for a purpose though....otherwise we would not have been created in the first place. Though life is not the most serene place we must make the best of it while still possible.

We are here so God can experience God. In my belief system, God is everything, and not a static being, seperate and apart. Instead, God is always changing, evolving, experiencing every possible thing that can be done.
Yes, I believe in an afterlife, for I have seen beyond this life and know that consciousness survives the body.
There is a point in everyone's life when they think it has all been for nothing. I don't think you can truly say you've lived if you haven't felt that way at least once in your life. But you live past that moment, into the next, and somehow there's hope; probably because the one certainty in this world is that things are constantly changing.
I believe that people choose the kind of lives they wish to live before they come into the body. They have a mission, a cause in life--and to know that by living your unique life you are allowing God to experience God helps make sense of it all for me.

Life, any life, is here by a chance event. We, the human race, have evolved by chance into what we are today. It's an individual chance that our mothers conceived and gave birth to us. It's a chance event that some of us have bad health and expire sooner than others. It's a chance event that planet Earth exists in such a manner has to support life. So there is no reason why we are here, apart from to reproduce. If there is a life after death, it will only be by chance. Sorry if this is not the type answer that you expected, but it is the truth.

Rom 5:12 "through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." (That is what all of us inherited, not because God purposed it, but because of Adams sin.) However under even under these circumstances our lives can be richly rewarding, filled with meaning.
We find the greatest happiness possible now and our lives take on richness of meaning when we apply Bible principles and put first the doing of Gods will.
Isa. 48:17,18 " This is what Jehovah has said, your repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: I, Jehovah, am your God, the one teaching you to benefit yourself the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Do you recall the origianl purpose that God had for man? When he created Adam then Eve he put them in a beautiful garden, God wanted the to fill the earth with their offspring, and make the whole earth a paradise. They sin, but Gods purpose had not changed. In Gods due time he will rid the earth of all wickedness, the earth will be filled with those you have listen to Gods commandments.
Pls. 37:9-11 " For evil doers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.
And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Hi, mrsmoopydo.
Unfortunately, everything we know is that there isn't an after life. The modern biologist knows that when anybody dies, we don't have any vestigious of a spirit or soul. And we don't even need to look for it. When we die everything finish for us. But why are you scared ? Before you were born a eternity had already been passed. Enjoy your life and achieve ALL your dreams because we don't have another. This will let you live this life fully.
OK ?
Bye bye

I don't know what it's all for but I do think it's incredibly sad to think that if there is no afterlife, this life has been all for nothing.
This life is the one you know for sure that you have. Live, love and enjoy!
