I suffer from Panic/Anxiety disorder pretty bad. I take Xanax (.25 mg) everyday, twice a day. It helps, but not always. I can't help this feeling that I always have that I'm going to die. It's depressing. I am just wondering, if anyone out there feels the same way with anxiety disorder. And also, what are some things I can do to make myself feel better. I go to counseling once a week, and I just for some reason sometimes feel like this is going to be my life forever. I don't want that. I dont know, if anyone has any kind of coping skills they can pass along that'd be great.

Your doctor, if worth their salt, will be able to give you good coping skills. Avoiding the kind of situations that cause you distress will help, but sometimes that is not always feasible. Your medication should be able to help you chemically, and if you are not feeling results, you should advise your doctor.

I have social anxiety disorder. I've been to counseling and have been on a few different meds. I learned to stop looking at the condition as such a big deal and live day to day. I am currently on Celexa and don't go to counseling anymore. For me, counseling was enough to learn couping techniques. Try taking a time out for yourself mid-day. Also, breathing is a huge part of relieving stress and anxiety. Yoga is a great way to learn breathing techniques that are very beneficial. I hope this helps. I know how frustrating it can be. Good luck!

Well the truth of life is that one day you are going to die but you don't need to be fearful about it. You need to pray and read the bible. You will find comfort in it. You need to get involved in activities and have friends. If you feel like every day might be your last than turn your attitude around and make each day worth living. Set goals for yourself on how touch someone else's life in a positive way by volunteering (Boy Scouts/Big Brothers/Big Sisters) for a worth while cause.
