Explain to your mom that there is a boy at school you'd really like to see more of. Ask her if she would be willing to let him come over, only when she is home, so the two of you could hang out. That way, she gets to know him, and when she gets comfortable with him, then suggest if you can go to a movie together, etc.

Go out with a big group of friends (like 6-8 people) of which you both are a part. Most parents feel better knowing their kids are with a group, safety in numbers, after all. Then, once she gets used to you hanging out with him outside of school, you can discuss going out just the two of you.

Of course, if your mom is cool about this stuff, invite him over to study or watch a movie or whatever. Most kids won't do stuff if their parents are in the house!

The best thing to do is to just ask your mom if you can talk to her..and come out with it. Never be afraid to talk to your mom, she's been there before, and can give you priceless advice to keep you from getting hurt. Best of luck to you.

If she says yes, she will probably make some rules about him coming home and stuff like that. She'll probably like to meet him and see if he meets the "standards" then she'll make the decision.

Ask her about how she met your dad. Let her tell you her stories and go from there.

(p,s. done lie)
