Mine does!! If you ask the child if their diaper is wet, or if they have a poo poo, they eventually get the idea that you want to know. They often begin telling you. They are such good helpers. Once they can tell you, you may want to begin the potty training. Let me warn you, this is often a very difficult and challenging time. Huggies has a website that has downloadable posters and incentives that I have used with my children. I especially liked the Elmo and Dora charts.

When they understand the reasons for diaper changes. They have to be able to understand the concept of what they've done IN the diaper and know that because of that they need to be changed. However this doesn't mean they are ready to be potty trained, it simply means that they know their diaper is soiled.

Yes, some do. Some of them are ready for the potty when they can do that. My daughter would go to her room and bring back a clean diaper when she was like 15 months old. She's now 18 months and knows how to say when she has to go, so now she being potty trained.

My daughter is 17 1/2 months and when I ask if she needs a diaper she will go to her room and stand infront of the changing table or she will grab her diaper.

No, only children trained to be in a dry diaper will fuss when their diaper is anything but pristeen. It is the parent that trains a baby that a dirty diaper is unacceptable.

My kids did not like having a wet/dirty diaper on. When they are doing this, as mentioned before it's a real indication it is time to introduce the potty.

No, my son doesn't let me know not even by crying the odor in his diaper tells me when it's time to change his diaper. As for pee diapers i know when to change him because i feel his diaper so i know when he needs it to be changed.

My son does. But he is almost 3. I am trying to potty train him and have been since he was 2. But he started telling me he was wet pretty early on. Sometimes a baby will tell you by body language. If they are aware that they are wet, they will get fussy, or rub their daipers. That's a good sign.

Yes. Since they know what it feels like, it is time to start the potty training ritual. If you stick with it, and they are ready, it'll take about a week. Good Luck!
