Yes you can eat the family's food when you babysit, I eat usually when I am hungry. But the parents usually say that I can eat what I want if I am staying durning dinner or lunch.

No it isn't unfair to price kin. you're saving them a equipment from a daycare and they understand they could believe you. considering this seems an ethics question it don't have a sparkling decrease answer. in the adventure that they were suffering financially and were in determined want of your practise then i'd say, no do not cost them except to cover for food. besides the undeniable fact that being a stay at domicile mom is an finished time interest. i'm particular you do not basically lay around the domicile counting ceiling tiles all day. you paintings to care on your position and care on your human being newborn. in the adventure that they are going to characteristic on your workload you need to be compensated. (it is with the expertise that they don't look suffering or having extreme monetary complications.) watching 3 youngsters is troublesome and makes it troublesome to sparkling the domicile or get highly a lot some thing done that you would in the different case be in a position to do. i understand you want your kinfolk yet you're being requested to furnish a very effective service. *Daycare will be a lot more beneficial expensive. *you're a relied on friend so that they have got peace of suggestions. in the adventure that they could discover the money for it i'd say cost them $50 an afternoon plus money for food. that maintains to be an mind-blowing good purchase. i grow to be paid $15 an hour to observe 3 youngsters and $12 an hour to observe one infant again when I babysat for various Nurses I paintings with. on the top of the week think ofyou've got some added money on your pocket to spend on some thing for your self which will evidently make you experience slightly more beneficial advantageous for the more beneficial paintings you probably did. Loving your niece and nephew aside, it is dissimilar paintings to attend to youngsters. you're at the moment getting paid lower than $2 an hour, and area of that is going in route of food.

As a parent I always try to have something for my babysitter to snack on around. Usually it's something quick and easy to make or something like pizza that arrives before I leave.
If you're not given any guidelines you should ask. If you feel weird asking for yourself you can always ask if they have any preferences on what to feed their kids when they get hungry. Or ask if they have anything you shouldn't eat. Usually either of those questions will get you some guidelines on what they would prefer you to have.

I would ask them before the family leaves, just to be sure. Personally, I would eat some of their food.

i would ask them first. it is always respectful to ask and not just go and raid the fridge. i understand your ackwardness feeling. i would feel the same way. if they do not want you to get things from them to eat, then just try to pack some snacks to tide you over until you can leave. however, i don't see a problem with them letting you get something to curve your hunger. hope this helps. good luck.

it's ok...you are there in their house, so i'm sure they don't mind. the only guidelines would be to clean up the mess, and maybe if they had some left over pizza, I wouldn't bother it unless they say it's ok. but i think other then that you're free.

I sure would not mind if our sitter ate something while caring for our kids. You could ask if it was ok to have a snack later and I am sure they would tell you to feel free to help yourself.

I would ask first. Then I would eat in moderation. Not to impose. I would want to be sure to keep good references.
