I don't know too much about medicine but I do know how much God and Jesus loves me and you! My Advice is give your anxiety and worries to Jesus! Know God loves you! He wants you to learn to trust him when things in life get you down! Look to God and Jesus to Supply your needs and Give Thanks to them when they answer your needs. The Bible says: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6-7) Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6-7) Do you know that God loves you so much that he gave his one and only Son Jesus to the cross, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life! (John 3:16) Know that every time you feel any situation is to much for you, it is never to much for Jesus. I would encourage you to start a relationship with him by reading the word of God (the Bible) beginning with the Gospel of John. So, no matter what voices in your head bring you fear and anxiety, you will how do handle it with faith and thanksgiving! I pray that you pray to Jesus, and ask him to revile truth to why you feel this way in your life so you can break free from your anxiety. God Bless!

Guess what?
There is no such thing as a 'better' drug ... you have to try each one of them and decide which one works for you. Or, pick the one you want to try and see how it goes.
Each drugs has its advantages and disadvantages, and each individual will have their own reactions to them.
Personally, I have done the prozac thing and surprisingly it actually increased my anxiety. I think I was one of those who is had the opposite reaction on.
I haven't tried Propoanolol...
I do use Ativan and have been using it long-term. I think a lot of people think when you use something like this long-term that you are talking about regular usage, high dosages, and addiction. Ativan is a safe drug if used properly, and under doctor supervision. There have been times where I have used it several times a day, and then others where I have gone for weeks at a time without it.
Regardless of which drug you decide to use, the best thing you can do is to be aware of each of the drugs, what their side effects are, and the short-term and long-term effects. Be aware of the "hype" versus the reality - it's necessary to separate them out and when you do, you'll then be well on your way to figuring out which drug you might use.

There are many different meds out there that respond differently in different folks. Some SSRI's like Celexa and Lexapro are touted as being able to curb anxiety. Other older antidepressants like Effexor are also known for their ability to curb anxiety. Prozac is very good for some people and others a real problem in their reaction to the drug. Lorazepam (in low dose) used as PRN (as needed) will help, but does carry risk of dependancy- use with caution. I would try one of the tried & true older ones like Effexor, but then again, it's a big decision so get as much info as you can before deciding- also remember it typically takes anywhere from 6-8 weeks to see the full effect. Good luck to you.

I would recommend the low dose Prozac. Lorazepam is very addicting and I will admit to not knowing much about the other. Definitely stay away from Xanax, it's very addictive, only good for 3 months and the withdrawal effects are NOT worth putting up with.

Look into Effexor. My Doc recommended that for starters rather than Prozac/Xanax etc. Im into my second week and very pleased. The first few days you will be spaced out until you adjust to the dosage. Good luck!

I smoke weed everyday but it is getting old and was making me paranoid to the point where i was passing out, and i have had to cut way down, it changes those chemicals in your brain that say I FEEL GOOd and it is hard to get back to normal after smoking weed for so long over 10 years for me

The Ativan. It is an antianxietant. The others are not.
Lorazepam, or Ativan, is not a tranquilizer.
Hope this helps.

At first I was put on clonopin which made ma zombie, but it was also addictive...but it helped when i needed it immediately. PRozac is wonderful (fluoxtine) not addictive, hardly any side effects and many people are on it for years. I was also prescribed risperdal and I wanted to through the pills at him, he said my guilt was dilusional. it made my d reams really weird and made me so tired in the morning..I hate them.

I would suggest not taking pharmacuticals because all your doctor wants is your cash and he is depending on you to be addicted to it. Try weed. I used to be on all kinds of anti-depressents, anxiety meds, and different kinds of tranquilizers. guess what though? when I was sick of being over medicated and feeling like a damn zombie, I started smoking weed and am off all meds. I feel great, have no anxiety, maintain my job and go to college full time with a 4.0 GPA. Weed has done wonders for me! A little bit at a time throughout the day works for me. Plus its is all natural.
