That is the theory,....however nothing last forever.
The tooth is essentially dead from jump street.

If you FIX THE TOOTH after you get the root canal treatment, there is no reason to say that "root canals don't last." I many have patients in my practice who had root canal treatments done over 40 and 50 years ago and they stilll have the teeth. I have literally hundreds of patients who have had root canal-treated teeth for over 20-25 years. Most back teeth need to be protected with a crown after having root canal treatment. If you do that, there is no reason to think you won't keep your tooth for pretty much the rest of your life; at least as far as the integrity of the root canal treatment is concerned.

Chances are it won't. Once the root canal is done, there is no more blood going to that tooth, and it makes the tooth brittle and weak. Your best bet is to put a cap on the tooth about 6 months after the treatment is done. You don't want to take the riask of the tooth fracturing below the gum line and loosing the tooth all together.

If you use proper hygine after the root canal the tooth will last the rest of your life. I do however recomend that you get a crown after you have the procedure done as the root canaled tooth will now become brittle and will change color

It is possible. I had a root canal when I was like 13....but I eventually had to get the tooth pulled because it broke.....but I was almost 40 then. Hope I answered your question. Best of luck to you.

The tooth will be "dead" after the root canal and will become fragile. You will need to cap it and then floss to take care of the cap. Caps have a life span of about ten years or so, depending on how you treat your mouth and bone structure, and what type of job the dentist did. Good luck!

Dont waste your money on a root canal, then core buildup or post and then crowns then see it fail in 10 years. An implant costs more but if you take care of it will last much longer, measure value, not cost.

No big deal I ve had several, they can last 20 years and more
