The Mountains. The Ocean is too crowded.

The ocean is great but very cold. The mountains are awesome. I think it depends on whether you want to be stimulated or soothed. The ocean is soothing and the mountains are stimulating but frankly, I love the desert areas over the mountains. During an earthquake of major proportions, I would prefer to be in the mountains and on granite instead of soggy sandy soil. However, if I am surfing, bring on the waves. :-)

Okay Mountains and heres why. Not that Im a drunk or anything but. At the beach you cant even drink a beer without getting into trouble. And sex on the beach? Sure if you want to go to jail. In the mountains you can pretty much do what you like in peace. Using good judgement of course.

The ocean. You can find mountains anywhere out west, but the ocean is somewhat more exclusive to the coastal states. And the southermost coastal state has the warmest beaches!

I live in Orange County and the best part is you can be on the beach and drive 1 and a half hours and be in the mountains. They are equally nice and you can have both in the same day. if you drive fast you can even stop in Palm Springs for a massage.
