This is really unneccicary. It is not such a streach of the imagination or even outside of reality to understand that "We the People..." includes all People. Nowhere in the constitution are there separations or restriction of People on any basis. It does not say "Slavery is fine" or "Women are 3/5ths of a Man" The Founding Fathers saw to it intentionally. This allowes for U.S. Code to be made, and changed, by Congress in order to accomodate the current modern paradigm. The Judiciary then decides, upon a complaint, if the Code is fair and legal. The Constitution has been amended to clarify, not grant, the Rights which traditionally denied as a matter of culture or poor State law. If you could find for me where in the Constitution a person is denied protection or participation in Government, please let me know. Gender neutrality can become quite cumbersome linguisticly, so I will continue to be a part of the Human race, not the Huwoman/transgender/man race!

I would not even dignify this proposal by helping to write an essay about it. If your teacher told you to write this, tell him or her you refuse. You should write an essay on why this should not be allowed. The Constitution, like any other historic legal document, should not be changed. It should be preserved so we can better understand the mindset of our nation's forefathers.

I think it is fairly understood that the Constitution, as amended, provides for its protections and privileges to be applied to "people" regardless of sex.

Making a specific statement of the sex of the persons would be redundant and unnecessary
