Jesus said that his return and the establishment of his kingdom, including catastrophic events, would occur in the lifetime of many of his listeners, and that their generation would not pass till all had been fulfilled.
No mater how church people manage to spin Jesus' failed prophecy, it is possible that many of them, in their innermost thoughts, begin to wonder, is this religion a hoax?
Do the hundreds of Bible stories, starting with Adam and Eve and their talking snake, begin to seem like they don't add up? Do any of you begin to wonder about a God who has serious emotional issues? And since it is a God who never changes, how can he learn from his mistakes?
Who among you is wondering today, just a little, whether Christianity is a hoax?

Failed prophecy? It is not failed, but has not come to pass yet.
Just because it has not come in the time you would like, does not mean to say that it has 'failed'.

The Bible speaks of such as yourself when people say "where is the hope of His coming"? Doubting and causing others to doubt also. This 'hope' is a sure and certain 'hope'.

The Bible does not tell us when Jesus will return, but tells us to look out for the times and the seasons. According to what we see happening around us today, I don't think it will be long before Jesus returns. I trust that you are ready, with your lamp burning brightly.

No, because when I first got saved I did wonder if it was a joke. I asked God to assure me that it wasn't. Then a few days later I had a dream that was very vivid. Then a day after that I opened up a bible, (never been a Bible reader before) and found my dream in the bible word for word and image for image. I had never heard of that story or discription of what I had dreamed before in my life. God just wanted to assure me that His Word was true. I have never wondered again since then about twenty years ago.

I don't wonder if Christianity is a hoax. I wonder if my not living as the bible tells me to means the joke will be on me. Even though I do not practice any religious beliefs I believe there is a God.

Many of them suspect it's hoax, but they would rather not talk about it.

As for the die hards, how many thousand years more til they realize there is no Jesus coming back to rescue them?

The whole thing is quite pathetic, really.

I have no doubt that Christianity could not be further from the truth of God. He is not about hate and jealousy as depicted in that fictional book called the bible.

No, try reading the bible to try to understand it. you will then see for yourself that God is the one true thing we have in this world. By just reading the first chapter of the old testement you will realize alot about the Lord. The Lord is perfect, we are not!

Christianity was invented by the Romans to keep the Jews from rebelling. It teaches to be humble and poor and love even those that wrong you.

I believe that while many may doubt the truth of their religion, admitting so would be opening flood gates...If you question it (not just quickly before praying--really question it) you have let reason in and faith begins to fade...
