How do I tell my mother that I really want to leave to L.A? I'm a freshmen in highschool, And I want to leave really far from home.(I live in New England) I want to go to Los Angeles to become an actress(even though I probably won't make it.) And i'll probably go to school for acting.

Mom~
I know you want the best for me, so that is why I am deciding to move to LA. I know it is a long way from home, but when I make it big I will buy you a plane ticket to get you over here. And if I don't make it big I will go to school for acting and then make it big! But seriously, you always told me to follow my dreams (even if she didn't go along with it!) an do what is best for me and this is my dream and what is best for me! I love acting and you know that I am good at it so lets give it a try!
Hope it helps! :)

It would really be best for you to stick with highschool and your family and form a solid foundation for your life, first. Take acting classes now and work really really hard and then when you DO get to LA, you have a better shot of being at least semi-successful.

See what experience you can get in the area you're in, and then when you're a little older, you'll be more prepared for big risks.

It's good to include your parents in this sort of thing...you might say:

"Mom, I would like to go to LA and make an effort at becoming an actress. This is a serious goal that I have for my life. I understand that now is not the best time for that big of a change, but I was wondering if you'd help me take some acting classes and start working towards that future?"

Then you sound good and mature and she'll be pretty willing to help you out.

You are too young to leave home. You are a minor and your parents are responsible fo ryou, so forget gong to LA just now. You are right, your chances of making it there are very small. How would you support yourself in LA at your young age? You could not even get work at this point. Why don't you oin theater at school or in your community for the time being. Running away to LA is not the answer to anything. LA is a dangerous place for someone so young and inexperienced, and not only that, from another country entirely. Stick at home for the time being and follow your dream locally by trying out for local plays. Please don;t listen to te silly teens here who tell you to just go for it and to jump on a plane for LA. You know that isn't very realistic at this point.

Just tell her how you feel and how important it is to you. Know going into the conversation that she will probably say no because you are so young and so far from LA. Good luck on making it.

NO! stay home and finish your education, quit trying to grow up so fast, you can go to New York just as easy and check-out the school of arts, that's your best bet,but finish high school first.

Finish high school, then study acting in college. That way you will actually have training and be better equipped to succeed. Then go for it.
