My first and 2nd son started thier naked stages at 2. My 2nd son we be 3 in May but I dont think the naked stage is going to be over till about 3 1/2 to 4 yrs of age. I think its because children become more verbal and more aware of their bodies at age 4 and five so they realize in ways they are big boys and girls not babies.lol and trust me I know what you mean by anywhere anytime. My 2yr old was naked the whole time in the house when family came out of state to visit last week. Everyone called him "the little streaker".

Yes, it is a phase, and it makes me crazy when I deal with that too. Its not that she is naked, (nobody is getting anywhere near my child when she does that), its that she'll drop her shorts, pants, undies, etc. on a public bathroom floor. YUCK! I tell her that people might have splashed pee on there, or poopies might have been there, and we don't know how well it was cleaned up, so now it might be on her pants, so that's why she can't put her bottoms on the floor. Unfortunately, this hasn't phased her - It just appals me. This too shall pass, dear.

My daughter does this all the time. (She's 3 1/2) I think they just love to be naked. It's probably just a phase...not to worry.

It is a phase. I have a 3 year old that does the same thing. Dont worry about it. My other 2 boys also have done this when they were younger.

Ok, first of all calm down. The child is looking for attention. Are you really paying attention to her, or just letting her sit in front of a tv, leaving her for long periods of time with a sitter? Kids will act out for attention. This is a text book case. Second, quit freaking out when this happens. She sees you reacting and you need to start acting. When she does this quietly walk up to her, pick her up, take her to a bathroom if in public, your car, where ever you are, and without saying a word, put her clothes back on her. Keep doing this and she will get the idea her actions won't get the kind of responses she is looking for. If she misbehaves, sit her down and quietly say to her, when you do this, its dangerous to do this in public. Tell her bad people might take advantage of her, hurt her and we want you to be safe. Don't yell at her, scream at her or laugh at her. Ever. No matter how funny it might be, don't let her see you respond. You can always take something she likes away for a bit if this keeps up. If she sees she isn't getting that toy, game, whatever, quietly remind her she took her clothes off and this is the result, and say nothing more about it. Time outs really don't work. Kids are wise to this. Its better to keep them busy with something, make them feel as if they are helping you do something big. This makes them feel like you are paying attention to them, and they are valuable to you. If she is in a car, tell her you need her to keep her clothes on to count how many people are walking by. This distracts her, makes her feel like she is part of something. These things do work. Kids react badly as they feel they are not heard, seen or loved. Also keep in mind if they see they will get a cookie every time you say boo, they will work you. Give them one cookie and make them earn it. It will mean more to them, give them a goal to work towards and you peace of mind.
