i've been looking for the whistling around my room and i noticed that it was on my computer. it's been whistling every 5 minutes and i can't find any file to stop it. anybody know how to stop this stupid whistling?

I would say its your fan spinning at high speed when it is not required

probably a fan that's not lubricated right. you can find out which one by listening or temporarily stopping one. (don't stop fans attached to the main processor, however)

more than likely one of your fans and it could go out on you and if its your cpu fan and it stops your cpu could burn up in as little as 2 sec. you need to have it checked.
