You should not use flea/tick shampoo until the dog is at least 3months old, this is because the ingredients get into the blood stream and the puppy's system is not ready to handle that at a young age. You can bathe your pup, just use regular dog shampoo without the flea/tick additive. When the puppy is old enough, purchase Frontline to prevent the flea/tick problem. You will need to get all of the dog's shots now also,if he hasn't been vaccinated. This is very important, you don't want your pup to come down with Parvo, it will kill him. Good luck.

The chemicals in the flea and tick shampoo are not safe for an 8 week old puppy.
Use a regular puppy shampoo instead.

At 8 weeks he is just a puppy and at that age they really dont need a bath. Its kinda like a baby, you cant give them a full bath until there belly button falls off. A flea and tick shampoo is strong and might irritate his skin.

Not good for them. What you can use which will be a quick kill for fleas is a Sulfa shampoo but make sure you wash it all out. It will not have a long term effect like flea shampoo but it will kill them while the shampoo is on the puppy. It can also be used in instances where infant puppies have fleas.

I'd use a gentle formula like a baby shampoo instead. The chemicals in the medicated shampoos can harm a young puppy. Stick with the label precautions.

Flea and tick products are basically insecticides (poison used to kill bugs). Puppies are too small to handle even low doses of the poison. Do NOT use such produts on your 8 week old pup. Instead, use simple soap and water. Make sure you dry the pup completely after its bath so it doesn't catch a chill. (Cold can kill a puppy faster than anything.)

They can not defend themselves against the chemicals in the flea and tick shampoo. I would suggest using a mild soap and a flea comb.

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.

The poision in the shampoo is too stong for such young dogs. Use regular shampoo, either your own or one you can buy at pet store.
A regular bath will not harm him.
