The real question is do you really want to get involved in that kind of relationship? If you happen to breakup you will still have to work together and that's not always a pleasant situation. If your still determined to go through with it, I would do it away from your place of employment. That way if the co worker doesn't want to go out with you your not embarrassed in front of everyone. By doing it outside the office it will keep the relationship private.

You don't...dating within the work environment is never a good idea. What if things don't work out between the two of you and you have a harsh breakup? Do you both continue to work at the same place and let it get more awkward by the day or does one of you quit, and if so, who? You're better off remaining friends with this person and trying to find a date/romance someplace else other than work.

Just be confident ans ask " Hey would you like to do something sometime" or " I heard about this movie that is interesting and I would like to ask you if you like to join me and watch it together"
If No is the answer than At least you tried.
Is not good to always ask yourself what if... always go for it

Ask, but be careful-- if you come on too strong, it'd make for an awkward situation whenever you see him or her at work.
