I have a 3 month old mini-dach that my husband and I are house training. She's been doing fine up until this past month. We take her out to the same spot, praise her the same way, give her a treat and bring her back in. Lately she only goes for my husband, I will take her out and stand outside with her, encouraging her to go, for 10 to 15 minutes. When I bring her back in, she will automatically go to her crate and go there. I am not getting where this sudden obnoxiousness is coming from. Is she testing my authority? Am I doing something wrong, I even had my husband go out with me, to make sure I was doing the same thing. I'm confused and annoyed, will she grow out of this and what do i do til then?

She might be testing you but try not praising her and ignoring her until she goes and stay outside longer when you take her out.

Has your husband been spending more time with the pup? Sometimes a dog will only do things for those it likes. If its more attached to your husband, it is more willing to do things (for praise) from him than you.

My dog, Jadelynn, is the same way. She will only perform her tricks for me or my Grandmother, even if the other persons have a treat in hand.

Spend more time with the pup and coax her into listening to you.

Have you been less consistent that your husband with the dog? In other words have you been one to give in more on things than he has?
