I am 43 years old, and getting married this May for the first time.
Does my dress have to reflect my age, or does anything go? I feel like I am 25.

This is your wedding and you can wear whatever you want.

My sister was 43 when she got married last year and she picked a gown that was sophisticated and sexy. A 25 year old couldn't have pulled off that look....everyone said she looked incredible.

43 is only as old as you make it.

I think your dress should compliment your 43 yr old body. I'd say wear whatever shade of white you like and forget anything that makes you look like you have a "Gone With the Wind" look or to much girlie lace.

Congratulations!

How do you normally dress? Your dress should reflect your personality, you shouldn't try to reinvent yourself for your special day. It is possible to be both tasteful and youthful.

If you're worried about what people will think, your needn't. No matter what you wear, someone will find fault with it. Choose a dress for you and enjoy your day.

Be true to yourself when you walk down the aisle. . . you do want the groom to recognize you don't you?

Best Wishes!

You should go with what style of dress looks good on your body type. Go to a bridal shop ask for there help. I'am also over 40 getting married not for the first time. I found the lady that helped me knew what would look good & it does. Good luck happy shopping

Always be tasteful as far as cleavage is concerned and it's usually not appropriate to wear a miniskirt for a wedding dress. Take along a friend or relative who wears nice clothes and ask for their help. We here on the web can't see what you are up to. Congratulations.

Your dress should reflect you. your personality. Your smile your elegance, and even your body shape. Oh and make sure when he see you in that dress, he think he 's on cloud 20. Let the color of the dress bring out your eyes with earrings ,necklace, bracelet and make your day shine bright. cb2john84@yahoo.com Congratulations on a new love commitment.

Your dress should be appropriate to your body type and shape. It should be the style that best compliments you. If your body looks good in a strapless slip of a dress and that is your style wear that. If you like and look good in a 2 piece pant suit wear that. It is your day, wear what you like.

I would think that your dress should reflect your personality, body size, body type and preferences. I don't think it's necesary for you to dress like the mother of the bride just because of your (not-so-advanced) age.

No, your dress does not have to reflect your age. It should reflect your personal style, accent your best features, and be the dress of your dreams.

You may feel 25, but you know full well that designs that are suitable for a 25-year-old look ridiculous on someone in their 40's.

You can do better than that. Yes, even in white, you can do better than that.

Congratulations on your impending nuptials.
