Flexeril is a muscle relaxant. Vicodin is an opiate. No dose of flexeril will equal Vicodin, they are two different types of drugs. Flexeril are non-addictive, Vicodin are highly addictive. If you are used to Vicodin, flexeril will have no effect on you.

You pretty much have been given totally accurate info so far, but I just want to add one more thing (I'm also a chronic pain patient). It would be way too long to explain this but trust me whehn I say Flexeril is a horrid medication. It can cause many problems. And I'm quite pro-pain medication when it's the proper one. There is a much better/safer muscle relaxant--Soma (generic name Carisopradol).
But I agree with one of the posts that you really should go see an MD for this. Pain medication really needs to be taken properly and there can be so many interactions etc that I would be sure to talk to a trained professional first. Some meds have NO effect on different types of pain. Of course if you are getting a euphoria from the medication then it's recreation not pain management. When the right dose is given for pain it just goes to the pain and helps reduce it.
Last please be VERY careful of mixing any of these meds with alcohol. Way too many folks have done it and not woken up again. It's playing russian roulette, so hope that's not a factor.

They are two different drugs with no relationship to each other. The other answerer that said that if you take Vicodin regularly then Flexeril would have no effect on you is mistaken. Of course Flexeril is not a painkiller but is sometimes used when the cause of the pain is muscle spasm, so by relieving the spasm it relieves the pain. However, it would have not effect on Non-spasm pain, but you would still experience the side effects. This is exactly why taking a friend's medication is WRONG (unless that friend is an MD or pharmacist and knows what they are talking about) and by the way it is illegal to take someone else's prescription medication.

First off, that isn't really legal and you should get prescriptions from your doctor, since sometimes they can have serious side effects or cross reactions with other meds. To answer your question however, Flexeril is a muscle relaxant. There is no "equivalent dosage" to vicodin as they are different medications. You really shouldn't be self-medicating with prescription drugs, especially when you don't know what they are.

Flexeril can help you not notice the pain and cause more damage at the same time the muscles are relaxed.
Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it.

You should not take someone else's prescription. If it is a controlled substance (flexeril and vicoden) it's against the law.
Flexeril is a muscle relaxer. Vicoden is a narcotic pain reliever.
They are not even close to being the same medicine.

Hardly. Flexeril is a (very) mild "uncontrolled" muscle relaxant. Vicodin is a "controlled" PAIN reliever. If you are confused by the stated terms, refer to:www.webmd.com

They are two totally different drugs as everyone has said. But Flexeril can also be habit forming and can have interactions with other medications.
