I don't agree with attacking another persons religion, but religion itself should not be held in such high regard as to be exempt from debate.

There is no simple answer to this question, but I think maybe it is because people base so much on their faith. Many people's whole lives are built around faith, and they think that anyone who believes differently isn't living right. Of course, not everyone takes such an intolerant view. People will always have a prejudice against other religions, races, even genders. That doesn't make it right, but as thinking (or semi-thinking anyways ^_^) creature, that's the way we are. also, people tend to generalize people from other religions based on other members of that religion that they know, like the poster above that was complaining about some religion. people need to be respected for who they are, not what label you put on them.

once you're saying bash, it appears that evidently you're talking of those who deliberately denigrate yet another's idea equipment, no matter if it is non secular or no longer. i trust planned is an major key-word. besides the undeniable fact that i have not in any respect understood the planned nature of publishing (posting) messages that are finished of 0.5-truths or outright falsehoods, the actual nature of the guy comes throughout the time of at the same time as he starts to call those of the religion, incorrect, and refuses to settle for what they declare as being area of their faith. In my suggestions, the only purpose is to ruin and is extremely followed through hatred, bordering on fanaticism, even to the point the position, if plausible, they might grow to be violent in route of their aims. they want some extreme and professional help about social habit.

It is called ethnocentricity or culturally ignorant. We are not taught as children to see other cultures as anything but wrong and to hate those that are different. Even in our grade schools children pick on the ones who are disabled, another color, or even of another faith. We are only taught what is normal in our own culture, family, religion, is correct and all others are stupid and should be exterminated. Hitler tried to kill all the Jews, the Muslims want to kill all those who are not Muslim. We need to start in kindergarden to teach about other cultures so that we understand other peoples beliefs and respect them as human beings before we blow ourselves off this planet. Jesus said "Love thy neighbor as thyself," and that is the greatest commandment of all, and look just how the world would change if we would do just that.....Amen

As a Buddhist, I have great respect for others who conduct themselves altruistically no matter what race, religion, sex, sexuality, etc. they are.
People are people first, and generally are a product of their environment, so therefore a lot of times the issue is ignorance (i.e. not knowing) about anything outside of their microcosm. It's not necessarily always an intentional "fault", therefore we must have compassion for everyone, no matter what.

Er, you think that we should respect everyone's beliefs?
That's just silly. Have you looked at the posts by the creationists, for example? They're not remotely respectable. It'd be just plain dishonest for us to pretend to respect that kind of belief.

Because we humans don't like to suffer in silence. If something is bothering us we need to say it.. That is why there is so much blah blah going around.
You could listen to Kingdom come and still not hear the end of it.

are you that same woman who would have us say darn instead of dammit and other words that would get my account blocked because of PC people like you?
Arguments get heated because people care deeply about these subjects. Just glance over the namecalling because it can only hurt you if you let it.
Sticks and stones, my friend.

How about "Why do many people..." (not "why does").
And is there a tax on using capitals at the beginning of sentences? Didn't think so!
