My children were both milk allergies as babies..when they got older they drank milk...son started with sinus stuff..fever..we went thru several antibiotics..finally I took him back off milk products and he got well..if you have a history of milk allergy in your child..this may be the culprit..it worked for us.

Dear God find another doctor. My son 15 and I both had a sickness with no name. Mine lasted 3 months but at least he (doc) was trying. I saw my doc 5 times before he got the antibiotic right. My son came down with the same thing but it started as a cold and got worse. 1 1/2 mo later he finally let in to seeing a doctor when he couldn't breath. Took him to a walk in clinic the doc there said there was a very strong strain of infection going around and decided to hit it hard right away with him. He got a steroid shot and a breathing treatment while we were there. A shot of antibiotic and prescription of the same. It took about a week but he kicked it quickly. With a fever that high your son is very sick. Take him to ER so he can get better. 3 mo is way to long for a young lad to be ill. He has an infection and I hope it hasn't turned into pneumonia yet. Take him somewhere other than the doc you already seen. It is Not the flu!!!!!! NO flu bug last that long. Get an ex-ray and blood test that will prove my case.

IT COULD BE MONO SO SEE A DOC. ASAP
Not everyone infected with the virus that causes mono (Epstein-Barr virus, or EBV) has symptoms. This is especially true in young children, who may have a fever but no other symptoms. Young adults between the ages of 15 and 24 are more likely to have obvious symptoms.1
The most common symptoms of mono are:
Fever, which may range from 101 °F(38.3 °C) to 104 °F(40 °C), and chills.
Sore throat, often with white patches on the tonsils (which may resemble strep throat).
Swollen lymph nodes all over the body, especially the lymph nodes in the neck.
Swollen tonsils.
Headache or body aches.
A lack of energy and fatigue.
Loss of appetite.
Pain in the upper left part of the abdomen, which may indicate that the spleen has become enlarged.

It could be Infectious Mononucleosis. I had this when I was nine, too. I was sick for a month and a half. Mention this to the doctor, and they will probably order a blood test. Results take 3-7 days and it will tell you if he has "mono". I hope he feels better soon!

A viral infection will not go on for 3 months. Do you mean that he has fever continuously for 3 months or off and on? If he has continuous fever for 3 months, he must be investigated for a malignant or autoimmune condition, or a chronic infection like tuberculosis.
