It was snowing (a lot) and I took her for a walk. She loves the fresh snow and while walking along I noticed that she had her entire head buried in the snow but she kept on walking.

My cockapoo did this all the time.
My current dog (aussie shepherd/german shepherd) rarely walks along with her head under the snow but if she needs a better sniff she doesn't hesitate to shove her head into a snow bank and wuff around a little.
She also will walk along with her tongue out (when the snow is high enough) and dragging on the snow to pick it up

Haha, thats quite cute. There is a number of reasons you pup is doing this: she's thirsty, she picked up some scent, or she could even be playing around and enjoying the snow.
My baby, Jadelynn (Border Collie mix), does this often too. She loves snow and does a various number of odd things in it...

Goldens are funny dogs, clowns really. My 8 year old Golden will lay down in a water puddle outside even if its freezing cold! She is the same with snow, she will run around through it and lay down in it. ;^)

Yes my dogs have done this. Aren't they cute. They will also follow the mouse tracks under the snow.

she was smelling! Retrievers are great hunting dogs and mine does the same thing.... she even digs the snow to get to what she's smelling.
