it is a natural thing,..and it is just in your DNA.

It's not in the DNA... it's something in your brain. I used to not be afraid of heights, but then I was stranded on a gas sign barely hanging on for my life until someone helped me get down (the ladder fell from underneath me). Ever since, I can't even walk over a bridge without getting weak in the legs scared literally. It may have happened when you were a baby, but I'm betting something happened that made you afraid of heights. The best solution I have found is to face it - but not all at once... just take yourself to the edge of where you start getting scared, say a front balcony... allow your body to learn that you're not going to fall off... then go a little higher - say a second story window... then maybe a bridge - though start with one that isn't high-traffic... But if that doesn't work, I'm a firm believer that sometimes things just ARE the way they are for a reason, and maybe you have that fear for a reason. It's been 9 years since I had my accident that has made me afraid of heights, and since then I've only made very minor progress on getting over my fear even though my logic process in my brain knows i'm ok.

i think you have acrophobia.
i found some information on it:
"The most widely accepted explanation is that acrophobia stems from fear — fear of falling and being injured or killed: this is a normal and rational fear that most people have (people without such fears would die out). A phobia occurs when fear is taken to an extreme — possibly through conditioning or a traumatic experience. Then, the mind seeks to protect the body from further trauma in the future, and elicits an extreme fear of the situation — in this case, heights."

i hope this helps somewhat.

Lots of people are afraid of heights. It's nothing to be ashamed of. I'm afraid of heights too, I will not ride a ferris wheel, because when I was a kid the I was on top and the seat kept on shaking back and forth real hard. That's what got me afraid of heights.

When you find out, let me know, I have the same problem.
I am so scared of heights I turn snow white and can not move and someone has to help me down

Because a fall from there will kill you. Your mind knows this and sees the height and makes you fear it so that you will stay away from that ledge. It's a survival mechanism that most of us have. That fear keeps you alive.

If its a true phobia preventing you from enjoying a normal life, see a professional. How scared are you? Can you walk up and down stares? Can you ride in a passenger jet?

only you can really answer that but I would guess it would have to do with a fear of falling.
It is your mind's way of protecting you from harm.
