Do you have a reason to dishonor GODZILLA!

Because the bible is absolutely without contradiction. Jesus is steadfast in his teachings and he did live. There is historical documentation that he existed. Now, even in the muslim religion there is record that he existed. SO, having proven that he did indeed exist I choose to believe that he was indeed our savior. Why? because he offers grace. I don't have to be perfect. I believe the teachings of the bible that Jesus lived and died for my salvation and through God's grace. You see there is no other religion in the world that offers this. You must follow the doctrine of that particular religion, there is no grace. We as humans mess up, this is our nature from the beginning of man and a savior was sent to assure us that forgiveness is there so that we will have eternal life. I choose to believe because the other options are not something that give me that promise. If I am wrong then I still had a good life. If a non believer is wrong, well the consequences aren't so good.

The reason I believe is because Jesus makes the most sense to me and Christianity/Judaism is logical. Jesus changed my life for the better. That is all I need. I searched through the major religions (which most atheists won't believe). I cannot believe the Universe just happened.

I was not raised in a Christian home, but was raised in the US. I currently live in Japan where I have had a lot of access to Buddhism and Hinduism (which make no sense to me). The thing that really turned me against Buddhism is when I found out funerals cost between 20-30 thousand dollars and you have to PAY the priests large sums of money to pray for your loved one. Hindu is absurd to me because of all gazillion gods they recognize. I cannot agree with Islam..mostly because they say the Bible is a word of God, but is wrong....then they use it to "prove" their points. How can it be wrong AND a source of truth? I can't understand how an all-mighty Allah would let his bible become contaminated.

Reasons--There is salvation in Him and in Him alone. Read John 3:16 and the 23rd Psalm. They put it better than I can. It's by grace we are saved through faith. That grace is given by God. The faith is in God/Jesus and what was accomplished on the cross, resurrection for us. I can point to some other things such as the teachings of Jesus, miracles He preformed, the life and writings of the disciples and others, etc. But the main reason is the first reason listed above. Hope this helps and God Bless......

The first reason is the bible itself which has never been contradicted by either archeology or science, not to mention the immense amounts of fulfilled prophecy. Then there is Jesus himself. His teachings are the most profound and world changing to date. He is often called a great-moral teacher, but he alone among all the religious leaders of our world also claimed to be God. As C.S. Lewis said he was either the most dangerous megalomanic of our history or he was Lord and God. There is also the tremendous change that took place in his disciples just following his death. They were fearful and denied him, then went into hiding fearing they would be next. After his resurrection they were transformed into great and fearless teachers, each dying in turn claiming Jesus as Savior and Lord. There is also the fact that a body was never found. Both Rome and the Pharisees had strong reasons to want to present a body to the populace to disprove Jesus' claims to be the Son of God. None was ever found. The idea that the disciples may have hid the body was also impossible. The tomb was guarded by Roman soldiers who would be put to death if they ever failed in their duty. Not to mention that the disciples were in fearful disarray after witnessing Jesus' crucifixion.

The best reason I believe is that my life was transformed from sucidal and hopeless to joy and peace. I know that God loves me and I am forgiven because of what Jesus did. Forgiveness is God's free gift to humanity. Jesus is a gentle shepherd calling his sheep into his care.

We all owe it to ourselves to seek the truth even if that truth is unpopular. Truth never changes.

Here is a challenge to any doubters out there. If you will sincerely ask God to show you if He is who he says he is (the God of the Bible) He will do it. You will be amazed.

The reason I believe in Jesus is that if I don't, my patriotism is questioned, my reputation within my community is sacrificed, and I am viewed as a person unguided by morals. "There ain't no morals like dem Christian morals!"

I might also add, "...if everyone believed in the teachings of Jesus like I do, there would be no..." Holy Wars, KKK rallies, priests molesting choir boys, witch burnings, terrorizing abortion clinics, beating up gays, ... but then again, not everyone does.

I believe that Jesus, the man, lived. I am also a believer in the gnostic gospels. Jesus was about enlightenment, not salvation.

you need a reason to believe in science because you do that with your brain. intellect is involved in believing in Jesus, but that belief is something you do with your heart and the heart does not need the mind's permission. Faith works like romance because its about love, not idealogy: you don't need an intellectual reason to fall in love with a woman do you?

"If everyone believed in the teachings of Jesus like I do, there would be no wars, murders or child abuse EVER."

Oh how untrue! Jesus himself supposedly said "In order to follow me you must hate your father, hate your mother, hate your wife, hate your children..." etc. We would be in eternal war.

It's all very emotional. If you say "Hallelujah!" to Jesus he will save you, and that feels good. What other reason is there?

Church people know that Jesus makes them feel good.

Because He answers me, and supplies my daily needs, and Buddha, Mohammed, and all other non-deities don't! Because He died for all my sins, so that I may be 'reconciled' with the Father which is in Heaven through his loving sacrifice on the cross of calvary! And it is not I who lives, but Christ within me. The old me, is dead and buried in Christ!
