There is a rumour doing the rounds at Sandhurst That You were Cashiered from the 'Barmy Army' for 'conduct unbecoming an Officer and a Gentleman'. Wish to make a statement?

The Sallies are not a fighting forces for Presidents, they fight for GOD, their main role is to bring peace to those that have suffered, to bring people back home to GOD.
They do however send Pastors into combat with the troops. I am sure that a Sally has served with very Australian Army that was in active duty.
We have a biscuit here in Australia it's called the SAO Biscuit, Salvation Army officer, the pastors that went to battle always had 1 of these to give the men.
Thank God For The Sallies

Well by definition the Salvation Army is:
"an international Christian organization whose members have military-style ranks and uniforms, hold meetings with music, and work to help poor people"
Even if you break the two words down individually they are in no way forced into fighting by their name. They do however offer medical assistance as the name suggests.
Furthermore I know some people in the Salvation Army and if they really wanted to they could flip out and kill millions. We are just lucky they haven't yet.... REAL LUCKY!

I suspect the Salvation Army could do a lot more in Iraq and Afghanistan than the armies fighting there now.

If a war is not theirs to fight then they should not fight the war........if the war is there to fight then poverty must be beaten.
The salvation army is NOT an army of violence, as the well known Swiss army...I have there knife.

Methinks 'Salvation' is the clue (Latin orig.)...being 'saved from sin'. They are a non-military Christian organization. Their enemies are evil beings...smoking, drinking, porn, season ticket for Ipswich Town, etc.
