I am not an expert on dreams, but I think it is one way your subconscious mind is trying to handle your personal view about death.
It defiantly is not reincarnation, there is no such thing. God (Yahweh) would not be that cruel to people, as to have someone re-live this life over and over; He knows that we are not perfect. Nor can we humans ever "become" perfect. That is why He sent Yeshua (Jesus Christ) to take all our imperfection, nail them to the cross, and freely offer forgiveness for each and every one of them.
I know some people who believe in premonitions, they would say that you had a vision about getting shot; but not dying. Since your soul went into another body. That other body is probably your unconscious mind. It is there so that you can recover from the injury of being shot. However, for this to be true; you would have to experience the dream at least once more.
If you do have this dream again, pay close attention to all the other things around you. "The wall that the other body was lying close by", might actually be a gurney from an ambulance, a hospital bed, or an operating table.
People who have these types of dreams (premonitions), tell me that they began keeping a notebook close to their bed. So that when they woke-up, they immediately wrote down all that happened in the dream; before forgetting some of the details.
I hope that this is somewhat helpful and do not take things personally, if people insult you about this dream. They have probably had worse ones. For example, one where they actually died and came face to face; with Yeshua or Yahweh.

It's hard to say anything for sure, but based on your vivid memory and how intensely it affected you, It's possible that you have witnessed how you died in one of your past lifetimes; you were shown your death. Why? I don't know. Maybe your mind can handle it, your psyche must be strong enough. But I know of people who triggered out of body experiences with the help of substances and saw things that their conscious mind could not handle; so they provoked something (without any proper guidance) that they were not ready for and went crazy.
If you are not taking any substances (which I would not recommend with this kind of experiences), then you can expect the similar 'dreams' where you will be shown your past (that you don't recall) and possibly some future events. People are more prone to out of body experiences (or astral travels) after they had near death experiences.
So, try praying or meditating before sleep, and ask that nothing bad can get you. Because when you establish contact with other invisible planes/worlds, you are exposed to all kinds of forces, like "viruses"; just as when you go online, you expose your computer (your mind and body) to different viruses, so you need some antivirus (a prayer, meditation) to protect you.
Read Robert Monroe, it may help you learn about that kind of stuff. Also, if things like that repeat, you should start writing them down. It would help you see what came true or why you were shown some things.

The Adversary (Satan) is doing a real job of setting people up to deceive them. So many movies, books, preachings of these days look like they are designed to lead people away from the truths of Scriptures, and the plan of salvation! My guess is that your dream was put together from some scenes and thoughts about some recent movies or tv shows. You don't have a soul, you are a soul.

No, you are not at all crazy.
My advice? Eat a large meal at noon, a light meal for supper, and a glass of milk with a cookie before you go to bed. Never eat heavy before going ot bed, you might have an even worse nightmare.

cool dream! Doesn't necessarily mean anything, just your subconscious mind playing around with ideas you consciously try not to think about
