Sounds like your event is not going to be too big. If that's the case I would try Bin 36. They are wine specialists, and I have attended some good events there.

There is a private room atop the Sears Tower that gives a magnificent view.

Also, look at the InterContinental on Michigan Avenue. They have several function rooms that are original to the 1920's building and are very posh.

Or for VERY cool, have it at the Conrad Hilton Suite in the Hilton on South Michigan avenue. As you look at the building, it's the limestone chateau on the top. The views are great and the interior is excellent. Only warning is that make sure your planner onsite isn't a dunce. The one I used was an idiot...had to go to the manager and ditch her.

depends on the charity........ if you are working for a recognized fund and you have a good cause ---- if i were you i would go to the most friendly restaurant i could find and talk to the manager---- that may not be the place but he/she could steer you in the right direction ......are you planning ahead and having your event in the summer when more folks are willing to be out later on the weekend and maybe you can use a city park (with permission) and reduce the cost of renting a big hall .... good luck

I recommend The Tasting Room on West Randolph

http://www.tlcwine.com/

I've always had good service there and there's a great view of downtown from the upstairs room.
